This past Friday we saw Japan's exciting Daigo Higa (7-0, 7) score the biggest win of his career so far as he stopped the previously unbeaten Kongfah CP Freshmart (14-1, 8) in the the 7th round of a bout in Thailand. That win saw Higa claim the WBC youth Flyweight title and make a real statement with a win that showed what a promising young prospect he was.
Earlier today in Japan saw Higa hold a press conference along with promoter, and boxing legend, Yoko Gushiken.
At that press conference numerous things were mentioned though for us the most notable of those was the plans regarding Higa's next match up which is now expected to come in the fall and see Higa defending his newly won title.
From what we understand there is no specific date, or opponent, set for that bout though we're expecting it to take place at the Korakuen Hall, possible on a show streamed by Gushiken.
For those who missed Higa's triumph we've included the video below thanks to the folks at tko.in.th and it really is a treat of a fight.
