Under-rated Filipino south paw Cris Alfante (11-5-1, 4) is best known for his fights on the road. In fact his 4 of his last 5 bouts have been outside of the Philippines, and whilst he has come up short against Knockout CP Freshmart, Kongfah CP Freshmart and Daigo Higa he did manage to fight to a draw with Ryuto Maekawa. In April he will be getting his passport out for another fight as he travels to Ghana to face his most notable opponent so far, former world champion Joseph Agbeko (30-5, 23).
The Filipino 24 year old has gone 1-4-1 in his last 6 bouts, with his only win being a stoppage of the limited Rolando Niones.
As for Agbeko, the now 36 year old has gone 3-4 in his last 7 bouts, dating back more than 6 years. Whilst he has been competing at a very high level, with losses to Yohnny Perez, Abner Mares and Guillermo Rigondeaux, he does seem to be a significantly reduced forced to the man who scored wins over Perez and Vic Darchinyan.
As well as the Alfante Vs Agbeko bout the show will also feature bouts with former world champions Joshua Clottey and Mzonke Fana.
