The MVP of the Champion Carnival was the newly crowned Japanese Lightweight champion Kazuhiro Nishitani (17-4-1, 9) [西谷 和宏], who shocked Shuhei Tsuchiya (22-5, 18) [土屋 修平] in March, stopping Tsuchiya to claim the national title in a humdinger of a bout.
The skills award was claimed by Super Bantamweight champion Yusaku Kuga (14-2-1, 10) [久我 勇作], who made a huge statement back in February when he demolished Yasutaka Ishimoto (29-9, 8) [石本 康隆] in a really outstanding performance.
The Fighting Spirit award was won by the newly crowned Super Flyweight champion Ryuichi Funai (27-7, 19) [船井 龍一], who stopped his good friend Kenta Nakagawa (13-3-1, 9) [中川 健太] in a memorable contest, to finally claim a title.
A special award will also be handed to Featherweight champion Kosuke Saka (16-3, 13) [坂晃典], who continued one of the most impressive runs on the Japanese scene as he stopped Shota Hayashi (28-6-1, 17) [林 翔太], and continued to impress and build on his snowballing success.
