On March 2nd we'll see long reigning WBC Bantamweight champion Shinsuke Yamanaka (26-0-2, 18) [山中慎介] defending his title against relatively unknown Mexican challenger Carlos Carlson (22-1, 13).
Today Carlson arrived in Japan, around 2 weeks before his fight date with with Yamanaka, as he looks to put the finishing touches to his preparations. The Mexican appeared confident as he spoke to the Japanese media up on arriving at Narita airport, but admitted that he was tired following the long trip. Although tired he was happy enough to give some further comments to the media, explaining that his body weight was pretty much sorted for the fight and that he had worked hard to prepare for the contest and that he was intent on bringing the title back to Mexico.
According to sources in Japan Carlson will continue hios preparations on February 24th with a training session in Tokyo, and is expected to show some of what he's about, something that has been very hard to gauge from the limited footage of Carlson online.
