Earlier today Japanese fans has the chance to see IBF Light Flyweight champion Akira Yaegashi (23-5, 12) [八重樫 東] take part in a public training session ahead of his May 8th defense against Mexico's Martin Tecuapetla (13-6, 10).
The popular Japanese world champion spent much of that time sparring with good friend friend, and Japanese Flyweight champion, Takuya Kogawa (26-4, 13) [粉川 拓也], with the two men also sparring just a few days ago as well as at this opening training session.
The spar was, unsurprisingly, action packed with both men showing their willingness to let their hands fly.
After the spar Yaegashi made it clear that he was working heavily on his physical training and feels that he's going to be in the best condition of his career. He looked great at the training session but still had work to do in the next few weeks, ahead of his bout.
