In less than than 4 weeks we will see 8 world title bouts take place in Japan. Of those 8 world title bouts 2 of them will take place in the Light Flyweight division.
The first of those is on December 30th as Akira Yaegashi (20-4, 10) attempts to claim the WBC title in his upcoming bout against Pedro Guevara (23-1-1, 15) whilst a day later Ryoichi Taguchi (20-2-1, 8) challenges Albert Rossel (32-8-0-1, 13) for the WBA title.
Earlier today it was reported that the two Japanese fighters were sparring together for 5 rounds as they both tried to sharpen up their skills and prepare for their coming bouts. This is despite the fact that there is talk of the two men fighting each other next year if they both win their coming bouts.
As one would expect the two men were complimentary of each other. Taguchi praised the speed of Yaegashi whilst Yaegashi mentioned that Taguchi was fired up and that he was making for a good training partner.
