Filipino fighter Adones Aguelo (21-9-2, 13) has been priced a huge betting under-dog this weekend for his fight with Mexican slugger Sergio Thompson (29-3, 26).
Aguelo, the current Filipino GAB champion at 130lbs, has been priced at a huge 7/1 to beat Thompson who is an unbackable favourite at 16/1.
For Thompson this bout appears to be his door way to a rematch with Takashi Miura and a chance to avenge his 2013 loss to the Japanese fighter. For Aguelo there is nothing to lose and a lot to gain from a win. According to the odds however this is a forgone conclusion and Aguelo has bee given no chance.
Sadly for the Filipino history rests on the side of the bookies and he did lose his only previous bout in Mexico, putting up a good effort en route to being beaten beaten by Nery Saguilan. Saguilan and Thompson however are completely different level of fighters and Thompson should have too much power for the usually tough Filipino fighter.
