Sometimes when a fighter makes a debut you can see they are something special sometimes however it's obvious they are just a young kid beginning their journey through the professional ranks in the hopes of one winning a title or making their name in the sport. A fighter who falls into that second category was Tatsuya Ikemizu who showed nice potential but nothing that made him a must watch on his debut against Kenya Ono. The then 18 year old Ikemizu showed some lovely speed and a wonderful variety of shots though like many debutants he had a lot of holes. Since this fight however he has stepped up significantly in class and in 2013 he won the All-Japan Rookie of the Year and it appears that he is a fighter going places in the Bantamweight or Super Bantamweight division.
