We don't like saying this but Thai boxing is in a little bit of a rut at the moment with very few real world class fighters and even fewer that seem to have the skills and financial backing to become stars. There is however some light at the proverbial end of the tunnel courtesy of several promising and unbeaten prospects, including Petchchorhae Kokietgym. Petchorhae probably isn't the best of the emerging prospects but he has been impressive so far and hasn't been facing a series of no hopers, in fact the Thai has been matched pretty well considering the fact he has only had a handful of fights so far. One of Petchorhae's most impressive wins so far has come against Indonesian journeyman Madit Sada who came to fight though seemed to quickly realise he was up against it and changed from trying to fight to trying to survive against the Thai southpaw who applied constant pressure to break down and beat up Sada who was stopped in round 4 after taking a pounding through rounds 3 and 4. Like many Thai's Petchorhae looks incredibly strong, powerful and exciting and we really can't wait to see more of him, especially if he's always going to be so willing to let his hands go. Though he will need to tighten up if he's ever going to compete at a high level. (Video courtesy of Boxers in Thailand World boxing)
