As we've said in the past Thailand's boxing scene is a bit "on the rocky side" of things at the moment. It's definitely showing signs of improving but at the moment there are very few proven world class fighters. Of course there is Amnat Ruenroeng and Srisaket Sor Rungvisai but we certainly think there is clear transition period going on at the moment with a number of emerging fighters who are all showing potential to be fast tracked. One of those fighters is former Muay Thai competitor Palangpol CP Freshmart who has shown some relatively basic skills but has bricks in his hands, looks to be a tough and strong guy and appears to be slowly transitioning from Muay Thai to boxing. The Thai scored his 4th win as a professional boxer when he over-came Filipino Joan Imperial and successfully defended his WBA Asia title. The bout was slow paced for several rounds before the Thai came alive and started to beat up Imperial dropping him in style in round 4. The Filipino managed to survive through the rest of the 4th and through round 5 before being stopped in round 6 after Palangpol's shoots took their toll on the Filipino who looked badly hurt when the bout was finally stopped. (Note we are aware there ARE some technical issues with the video after round 5, these were issues with the feed and not the video. As for he video its courtesy of boxers in Thailand World boxing - Boxing)
