This past Saturday, July 21st 2018, fight fans had a chance to see a card held at Workpoint Studio, Bang Phun in Thailand. The card wasn't a huge one, but did again show the quality of show that Workpoint are putting out with their promotional partner, Nakornluang Boxing Promotion. This particular card featured 2 very notable bouts The first of those was a bout between Nawaphon Por Chokchai (41-1, 33) and Yodsingdaeng Jor Chaijinda (16-7, 10), with Yodsingdaeng being a late replacement for Shota Kawaguchi (21-10-1, 9) with the second being a showcase for WBC Super Flyweight champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (45-4-1, 40) and Korean veteran Young Gil Bae (28-6-2, 22). November 24th 2015-Chonburi, Thailand Wanheng Menayothin (39-0, 14) v Young Gil Bae (26-4-1, 21) We don't get many Korean world title challengers, though this week we did see Young Kil Bae fight at the top level as he took on WBC Minimumweight champion Wanheng Menayothin. Although Bae failed to make weight for the bout, and couldn't possibly win the title, the contest went on as planned for a bout that looked like a mismatch on paper. |
