December 5th 2002-Royal Square, Bangkok, Thailand Yokthai Sithoar (26-3-1, 16) vs Joel Junio (27-34-1, 14) In 2002 former world champion Yokthai Sithoar took on Filipino journeyman Joel Junio. August 8th 1997-Emerald Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand Yokthai Sithoar (13-0-1, 8) vs Jesus Rojas (29-6-2, 14) In 1997 Yokthai Sithoar, the then WBA Super Flyweight champion, took on former WBA Flyweight champion Jesus Rojas. November 10th 1996-Provincial Stadium, Phichit, Thailand Yokthai Sithoar (11-0, 7) vs Jack Siahaya (1-2, 1) In August 1996 Yokthai Sithoar claimed the WBA Super Flyweight title, with a TKO win over Alimi Goitia, in his first defense he took on Indonesian challenger Jack Siahaya, who entered the bout with a 1-2 record, a bizarre record for a world title challenger. April 23rd 2000-Rainbow Hall, Nagoya, Aichi, Japan Hideki Todaka (16-2-1, 7) vs Yokthai Sithoar (23-1-1, 13) In 1999 Hideki Todaka claimed the WBA Super Flyweight, beting Jesus Rojas. In his second defense he battled against Thai foe Yokthai Sithoar, who had been champion in 1996-1997 and was looking to become a 2-time champion. December 23rd 1997-Aichi Prefectural Gym, Nagoya, Aichi, Japan Yokthai Sithoar (14-0-1, 8) Vs Satoshi Iida (22-1-1, 11) II In 1997 Thailand's Yokthai Sithoar [หยก ไท ศิษย์ อ] twice travelled to face Japan to face Satoshi Iida [飯田覚士], with the Thai defending the WBA Super Flyweight title. The first bout was a draw and came 8 months before this rematch. |
