September 9th 2004-Changchung Gymnasium, Seoul, South Korea Yo Sam Choi (26-4, 15) vs Lorenzo Parra (24-0, 17) In 2004 former Korean world champion Yo Sam Choi [최요삼] challenged the then WBA Flyweight champion Lorenzo Parra, with Choi looking to become a 2-weight world champion. October 17th 1999-Olympic Park Gymnasium, Seoul, South Korea Yo Sam Choi (20-1, 10) Vs Saman Sorjaturong (41-2-1, 31) I In 1999 Korean fighter Yo Sam Choi [최요삼] challenged the then WBC Light Flyweight champion Saman Sorjaturong [สมาน ส.จาตุรงค์], in the first of two bouts between the two fighters. February 23rd 2002-Tokyo Bay NK Hall, Urayasu, Chiba, Japan Yo Sam Choi (23-1, 12) Vs Shingo Yamaguchi (11-2-1, 5) In 1999 Korean fighter Yo Sam Choi [최요삼] claimed the WBC Light Flyweight title. His third defense of that title saw him face off against Japan's Shingo Yamaguchi [山口真吾], who had lost his first two professional bouts before going on an 11-0-1 run to earn his title shot. March 27th 2004-Palpal Gymnasium, Seoul, South Korea Yo Sam Choi (26-3, 15) Vs Federico Catubay (12-7-3, 7 Korean fighter Yo Sam Choi [최요삼] began his career 24-1 before suffering a notable slip picking up losses in a really sticky patch of his career. In an attempt to end that poor run he faced Federico Catubay of the Philippines. July 6th 2002-Olympic Fencing Gymnasium, Seoul, South Korea Yo Sam Choi (24-1, 13) Vs Jorge Arce (29-3-1, 21) Korean fighter Yo sam choi [최요삼] will always be remembered for his untimely death following a bout with Heri Amol, it is however unfair to forget the great career he had which saw him facing numerous top fighters, including Mexican star Jorge Arce, who was an absolute monster at 108lbs. December 25th 2007-Gwangjingu Hall, Seoul, South Korea Yo-Sam Choi (31-5, 19) vs Heri Amol (22-7-3, 7) South Korean boxing has had more than it's share of tragedies over the years. One of the most notable was the death of Yo Sam Choi [최요삼] following his bout with Indonesian Heri Amol. Sadly Choi passed away due to injuries sustained in this bout.
