July 27th 2002-Dajin High School, Seoul, South Korea Yang Soo Sung (13-2-2, 3) vs Gang Il Jo (2-8, 2) In the middle of 2002 Korean Featherweight champion Yang Soo Sung took on gutsy challenger Gang Il Jo, who proved to be a very tough challenger despite his under-whelming record. Rather interestingly the finish is not one we'd likely see in many countries, and the referee certainly deserves to be questioned for the letting the bout finish like it did.

February 28th 2003-Dangjin, South Korea In Jin Chi (25-2, 15) vs Yang Soo Sung (14-2-2, 4) In 2003 future 2-time WBC Featherweight champion In Jin Chi [지인진] clashed with Korean Featherweight champion Yang Soo Sung [성양수] October 2nd 1999-Tokyo, Japan Kengo Nagashima (14-1-1, 9) vs Yang Soo Sung (11-1-2, 3) In October 1999 Japanese puncher Kengo Nagashima took on Korean visitor Yang Soo Sung. Whilst Nagashima, who would later fight for a world title, is the bigger name it's interesting to note that Sung's final two bouts apparently came in 2003, against In Jiun Chi, and then 2011, against Min Wook Kim, in what is a rather odd ending to his career. |
