January 14th 2002-Korakuen Hall, Toyo, Japan Joya Kawai (13-3, 4) v Toshiharu Kayama (17-2-1, 10) II In early 2002 fans in Japan saw a rematch between Joya Kawai and Toshiharu Kayama, who battled for the Japanese Light Middleweight title, Coming in to this Kawai looking to make his first defense of the title, whilst Kayama was looking to repeat his 1998 win over Kawai and become a 2-weight Japanese national champion. April 25th 2000-Tokyo, Japan Toshiharu Kayama (15-0-1, 9) vs Makoto Nakahara (12-3-2, 5) II In 1998 Toshiharu Kayama scored an 8th round TKO win over Makoto Nakahara to become the Japanese Welterweight champion, less than 2 years later the two men would rematch, in what was Kayama's 5th defense of the title. April 14th 2003-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Crazy Kim (14-3, 12) Vs Toshiharu Kayama (19-3-1, 11) In 2003 the always fun to watch Crazy Kim faced off with Toshiharu Kayama in a bout for the Japanese Light Middleweight title. April 27th 1999-Tokyo, Japan Toshiharu Kayama (12-0-1, 8) vs Shinji Saeki (14-3, 12) In 1994 Japanese fans saw Toshiharu Kayama make his third defense of the Japanese Welterweight title, as he took on Shinji Saeki. December 8th 1998-Tokyo, Japan Toshiharu Kayama (11-0-1, 7) vs Shinichi Komatsu (11-9-3, 5) Back in 1998 Toshiharu Kayama claimed the Japanese Welterweight title, in his first defense he took on Shinichi Komatsu. |
