July 15th 2001-Okayama City, Okayama, Japan Tiger Ari (58-5-3, 25) Vs Kazunori Fujita (13-1, 8) In 2000 Filipino fighter Tiger Ari successfully defended the OPBF Super Featherweight title with a win against Kazunori Fujita, taking a decision over the Japanese fighter. The following year then men faced off again with Ari's OPBF title on the line like it was in their first bout. Interestingly however Fujita entered this bout as the OPBF interim champion, claiming that status after beating Gang Il Jo who filled in for Ari when a rematch was supposed to take place in November 2000

September 25th 1993-Bomunsan Music Hall, Daejeon, South Korea Tiger Ari (33-3-1, 11) vs Eun Shik Lee (20-3, 16) In 1993 OPBF Featherweight champion Tiger Ari went to Korea and took on former OPBF Bantamweight champion Eun Shik Lee. February 25th 2001-International Conference Hall, Nagoya, Aichi, Japan Tiger Ari (57-5-3, 25) vs Ryuhei Sugita (19-0-1, 16) In 2001 Filipino fighter Tiger Ali travelled to Japan to defend the OPBF Super Flyweight title against the unbeaten Ryuhei Sugita. December 14th 1992-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Tiger Ari (31-3-1, 10) vs Takeyuki Akagi (17-2, 10) II In April 1989 Takeyuki Akagi defended the Japanese Super Featherweight title with a majority decision win over Tiger Ari. The two men would then have a rematch in December 1992 with Ari coming in to the bout as the OPBF Super Featherweight champion. Here is the second bout between the two men. That career included 11 OPBF title fights including a bout with the then unbeaten Kenji Ryuki, who had looked genuinely promising through his first 8 bouts. |
