March 9th 1985-Kudok Gymnasium, Busan, South Korea Takuya Muguruma (18-0-1, 12) vs Youn Kap Choi (14-3, 6) I In March 1985 Korean fighter Youn Kap Choi clashed with the then unbeaten Takuya Muguruma [六車 卓也], a future world champion, in a bout for the vacant OPBF Super Bantamweight title. Interestingly these two would face off again in August 1986, with that bout taking place in Japan whilst this one was in Korea.

November 28th 1983-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Takuya Muguruma (14-0, 9) vs Hiroyuki Iwamoto (25-7-3, 4) In 1983 future world champion Takuya Muguruma [六車卓也] challenged Japanese Super Bantamweight champion Hiroyuki Iwamoto [岩本弘行], who was looking for his 9th straight defense of the title. April 8th 1983-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Takuya Muguruma (11-0, 6) vs Fusao Imai (11-5-2, 6) Way back on April 8th 1983 fight fans saw future world champion Takuya Muguruma [六車卓也] take on Fusao Imai [今井房男] in a bout that ended in brutal fashion. June 24th 1985-Sakuranomiya Skating Rink, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Takuya Muguruma (18-1-1, 12) vs Satoshi Koguchi (11-6-1, 10) In the summer of 1985 Japan's Takuya Muguruma [六車 卓也] , the then JBC Super Bantamweight champion, took on hard hitting challenger Satoshi Koguchi [古口 哲] in Osaka. January 17th 1988-Prefectural Gymnasium, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Takuya Muguruma (26-2-1, 20) vs Wilfredo Vazquez (26-3-1, 22) In early 1988 Japan's Takuya Muguruma [六車 卓也] attempted to reclaim the WBA Bantamweight title, and challenged the man who had beat the man, who had taken the belt from himself. That was Puerto Rican puncher Wilfredo Vazquez, a huge puncher. They, together, made for a very, very special bout. May 24th 1987- City Gymnasium, Moriguchi, Osaka, Japan Takuya Muguruma (25-1-1, 19) vs Chan Young Park (24-3-2, 7) Back in the 1980's the Japan Vs Korea rivalry provided some amazing fights. One of those was 1987's WBA Bantamweight clash between defending champion Takuya Muguruma and Korean challenger Chan Young Park. This was an exciting, enthralling, and career shortening war which saw both men taking some hellacious punishment October 16th 1988-City Gymnasium, Moriguchi, Osaka, Japan Takuya Muguruma (26-2-2, 20) Vs Juan Jose Estrada (33-7, 28) In 1987 Japan's Takuya Muguruma [六車卓也] claimed the WBA Bantamweight title. He lost that belt in his first defense and made a challenge to reclaim it the following year, fighting to a draw with Wilfredo Vazquez. Later in 1988 he moved up to Super Bantamweight and challenged WBA champion Juan Jose Estrada, from Mexico. |
