The injuries suffered by Sakata kept him out of the ring for almost a year before he returned, and took on Thai novice Kongtoranee NoinaiSportschool. These two men would later fight in two other bouts. This would be the first of 4 world title challenges from Hisataka who would be a perennial challenger over the following 5 years.
