September 13th 2017-EDION Arena Osaka, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Takahiro Yamamoto (19-5, 16) Vs Superjeng Sithsaithong (0-0) This past week Japanese fight fans at the EDION Arena Osaka saw former OPBF Bantamweight champion Takahiro Yamamoto [山本隆寛] take on Thai novice Superjeng Sithsaithong April 23rd 2017-EDION Arena Osaka Osaka, Osaka, Japan Takahiro Yamamoto (18-5, 15) vs Phetinsee Rongriangeelakorat (0-0) Earlier this year fight fans in Osaka saw former OPBF Bantamweight champion Takahiro Yamamoto [山本 隆寛] take on Thai foe Phetinsee Rongriangeelakorat. June 20th 2016-EDION Arena Osaka, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Takahiro Yamamoto (17-4, 14) vs Rex Wao (11-2, 9) Earlier today Japanese fighter Takahiro Yamamoto [山本隆寛] took on Filipino fighter Rex Wao. The bout was being held as the second defense of the OPBF Bantamweight title by Yamamoto. December 31st 2015-EDION Arena Osaka, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Takahiro Yamamoto (16-4, 13) vs Yuki Strong Kobayashi (9-4, 5) On New Year's Eve we were all focused on the world title bouts, there was however plenty of under-card actions, including an OPBF Bantamweight title fight between defending champion Takahiro Yamamoto and Yuki Strong Kobayashi. (Video courtesy of yossy112311) August 2nd 2015- Prefectural Gymnasium Osaka, Osaka, Japan Yu Kawaguchi (23-6, 10) Vs Takahiro Yamamoto (15-4, 12) II Earlier this year fans in Osaka had a treat as Yu Kawaguchi and Takahiro Yamamoto threw down in a 12 round war for the OPBF Bantamweight title. That bout ended with Kawaguchi taking a split decision win in a bout that both men thought they had deserved. Rather than going their own way the two men decided to have an immediate rematch, and what a fight it was! In Japan however things are a little bit different and with the Rookie of the Year competition being a key tournament we often see good youngsters battling each other very early. One such case of this was seen when Takahiro Yamamoto fought Kiron Omura. Between them they had had 5 fights, all wins wins by KO inside 2 rounds. It was fair to say this one wasn't going to last long. |
