May 7th 1987-Changchung Gymnasium, Seoul, South Korea Soo Hwan Hong (41-4-3, 14) vs Ricardo Cardona (15-4-1, 9) In 1987 Soo Hwan Hong [홍수환], the then WBA Super Bantamweight champion, faced off with Colombian challenger Ricardo Cardona. Rather sadly this would be one of Hong's final bouts, despite the fact he was only 27 at the time. Despite his youth he had been in a lot of wars, including his 1977 thriller with Hector Carrasquilla to win the title.
