June 2nd 2018-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Ryusei Ishii (7-4, 4) vs Spicy Matsushita (17-10-1, 2) This past Saturday Japanese fight fans had the chance to see recent Japanese title challenger Spicy Matsushita [松下明広] battle against Ryusei Ishii [石井龍誠] (We apologise for the sound quality of this video) Some fighters manage to excite us the first time we see them. One such fighter was Ryusei Ishii who reminded us of Sergio Martinez in many ways when we saw him over-come Kenta Yamada in a very interesting low level bout at Dangan 112. Going in we hadn't seen either man before though Ishii certainly converted us into being a fan of his with a fun style, lots of movement and a natural flair to him. Yamada, in credit to him, did his best but lacked the skills to over-come a man we will be following intently in his next few bouts. (This video is courtesy of Miyata Gym Boxing Channel) |
