February 11th 2021-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Ryo Sagawa (10-1, 5) vs Hinata Maruta (10-1-1, 8) Just over a week ago Japanese fight fans at Korakuen Hall had the chance to see Japanese Featherweight champion Ryo Sagawa [佐川遼] face off with his mandatory challenger Hinata Maruta [丸田陽七太] in much anticipated, and much delayed, Champion Carnival bout. The contest was originally planned for early 2020 before Covid19 postponed the bout, and forced it to be delayed by almost a full year. Despite the delay the bout was one fans had been looking forward to. Notably the bout was supposed to be shown a few days after taking place, on tape delay, however the broadcast was delayed by almost a week due to an earthquake that struck Japan just hours before the bout was originally supposed to be aired.
