Today we all talk about Manny Pacquiao as one of the modern greats. What he has done in recent years has been tremendous and his rise through the weights will go down in history. In fact it will be a very, very long time before we see another fighter go from holding a world title at Flyweight to holding a world title at Light Middleweight. For many however it's only Pacquiao's recent bouts that matter. His bouts over the last decade have been what has made him a legend. Surprisingly however it was in the late 1990's that he won his first world title, the WBC and Linear Flyweight titles. To do that the Filipino youngster had to travel to Thailand and battle against the older, more experienced and battled hardened Chatchai Sasakul. If you've never seen this one it's well worth a watch as it is a little bit of history and was the bout that began the Pacquiao rise and showed off his insane natural power, even if at the time he was still a crude fighter with athletic ability rather than the relatively refined fighter he is today.
