When we talk about the best fighters to watch one name that we always mention is Koki Eto. He may be limited, he may be flawed and he may never be a genuine world champion, but every time he steps into the ring he delivers action. In fact it's probably because of his flaws that he gives us so much excitement. Eto burst on to the international stage with his brilliant win over Kompayak Porpramook last year, a win that saw him claiming the WBA interim Flyweight title and scoring one of the most amazing wins by a Japanese fighter on Thai soil. Eto returned to Thailand in his following fight to defend that title against the little known Yodmongkol Vor Saengthep, a fighter who was completely unknown outside of Thailand. We won't ruin what happens in the fight but again it was Eto's boxing limitations and insane heart that made the contest so much fun from the first bell to the final bell and, as with Eto's fights with Porpramook and, more recently, Ardin Diale you really cannot take your eyes off the action at any point for fear of missing something special. We advise that after you watch this bout you watch the Eto/Porpramook fight, if you haven't already and the Eto/Diale fight, again if you haven't already. If you've seen all 3 then you will know exactly why we love Koki Eto.

One of the very best fights of 2013 took place on August 1st in Thailand where Japanese visitor Koki Eto fought Thai stalwart Kompayak Porpramook in a battle for the interim WBA Flyweight title. If you'd seen either man before this fight you're realise they would be exciting shadow boxing so when they got in the ring together this was a sure fire war. If you've not seen this we won't spoil the result but it really is an amazing fight which shows the lengths two warriors will go to in their attempt to become a "world champion". Both men show real heart and determination, boundless energy and flat out aggression in a fight that we can't help but love despite how sickly savage it is. Amazingly Eto would continue to be in thrillers and in June 2014 he was involved in another barn burner when he fought Ardin Diale. Whilst it wasn't quite as good as this bout it's another that is worth watching if you like savagery in the ring. (Video courtesy of Yoko Gushiken/youtube) Not every fight has to be a exhibition of technique and technical skills and of course we all love an high action brawl. Fans at the Korakuen Hall on June 17th 2014 got one such brawl as former WBA interim Flyweight world champion Koki Eto and Filipino visitor Ardin Diale put it all on the line in a war for the OPBF Flyweight title. The bout, which was uploaded to ustream in 2 parts by fight promoter Yoko Gushiken, really was thrilling and even the down moments seem exciting with the knowledge that the fighters were going to go at each other like rabid animals sooner rather than later. Whilst some may disagree with us we'd go as far as to say round 8 was one of the rounds of the year whilst the fight it's self deserves a mention for Fight of the Year and Comeback of the Year. It really was thrilling, exciting and went one way then the other. Please enjoy this real treat of savage violence! |
