December 3rd 2016-Korakuen Hall Tokyo, Japan Kenichi Ogawa (19-1, 16) vs Rikki Naito (15-1, 5) II In December 2016 fights fans saw Japanese Super Featherweight champion Kenichi Ogawa [尾川 堅一] battle with former champion Rikki Naito [内藤 律樹] in a highly anticipated rematch between the two men, who had fought the previous year with Ogawa taking a technical deicision over Naito to claim the title. December 3rd 2016-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Kenichi Ogawa (19-1, 16) vs Rikki Naito (15-1, 5) II Earlier this month Japanese fans at the Korakuen Hall saw a rematch between Japanese Super Featherweight champion Kenichi Ogawa [尾川 堅一] and former champion Rikki Naito [内藤 律樹], the man Ogawa acrually beat for the title. September 10th 2016-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Kenichi Ogawa (18-1, 15) vs Kento Matsushita (34-9-7, 13) This past weekend fight fans in Japan saw Japanese Super Featherweight champion Kenichi Ogawa [尾川堅一] take on veteran Kento Matsushita [松下拳斗] in Ogawa's second defense of the national title. December 14th 2015-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Rikki Naito (13-0, 5) Vs Kenichi Ogawa (16-1, 14) In late 2015 we saw Japan's Rikki Naito [内藤 律樹] go up against the hard hitting Kenichi Ogawa [尾川 堅一], one of the 2015 Asian break out fighters. Going into this one it was thought to be speed and skill against power and strength. December 18th 2011-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Kenichi Ogawa (6-0, 5) Vs Ippo Nishiwaki (5-0, 4) The Japanese Rookie of the Year helps the Japanese boxing scene develop young talents and create some great match ups. One of the recent talents to come through the system was 2011 winner Kenichi Ogawa [尾川 堅一] , the current Japanese Super Featherweight champion, in his final bout he took on fellow puncher Ippo Nishiwaki [西脇 一歩]. One we recently stumbled on was a bout between current JBC Super Featherweight champion Kenichi Ogawa [尾川 堅一] and domestic foe Galanter Saito [ギャランター 斉藤] from more than 5 years ago, in fact this was Ogawa's 2nd professional bout. November 3rd 2011- Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Kenichi Ogawa (5-0, 4) vs Kenta Ihara (6-0, 4) In 2015 we saw Kenichi Ogawa [尾川 堅一] claim the Japanese Super Featherweight title. Earlier in his career he won the Rookie of the Year and on his way to that crown he took on Kenta Ihara [伊原 健太]. September 22nd 2015-Ota-City General Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan Kenichi Ogawa (15-1, 13) Vs Deivi Julio Bassa (17-0, 10) Japan's heavy handed Kenichi Ogawa is one of a number of emerging Super Featherweights coming through the ranks in Japan at the moment. Earlier this week he was involved in his most notable bout to date, as he took on the world ranked Deivi Julio Bassa, an unbeaten Colombian who had traveled with a lot of confidence. |
