August 13th 2020-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Shinnosuke Hasegawa (11-2-1, 8) vs Kazuma Sanpei (19-5, 8) Last week in Tokyo Shinnosuke Hasegawa [長谷川慎之介] and Kazuma Sanpei [三瓶数馬] clashed in a Super Featherweight bout at Korakuen Hall. November 22nd 2017-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Kazuma Sanpei (13-4, 4) vs Ryuki Ishii (6-2, 4) Back in November Japanese fight fans got a treat as JBC Youth Super Featherweight champion Kazuma Sanpei [三瓶数馬] took on challenger Ryuki Ishii [石井龍輝] We've some refer to the Japanese boxing system as Darwinian for allowing young prospects with real promise to fight each other early in their career. For us it's great we get to see some talented youngsters with single fights go up against each other in an attempt to climb up the rankings quickly rather than waiting 15 or even 20 fights to see what someone is really about. This bout saw the then 10-0 Kazuma Sanpei battling against the 9-1 Jun Hamana and was the sort of bout that both fighters develop from. In fact in some ways no one really lost with the actual losing giving a fantastic account of himself allowing him continue at this same level just like the winner and it was close enough for neither man to feel they had really gotten the better of. If you're sick of seeing prospects matched against completely over-matched and under-whelming foes then this is the sort of fight that should catch your fancy and we'd not be shocked to see both men making a mark on the title scene in the future.
