September 11th 1992-Nippon Budokan, Tokyo, Japan Katsuya Onizuka (19-0, 16) vs Kenji Matsumura (12-5-1, 8) in April 1992 Japanese fighter Katsuya Onizuka won the WBA Super Flyweight title. In his first defense he took on fellow fighter Kenji Matsumura.

May 15th 1989-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Katsuya Onizuka (7-0, 6) vs Masao Kawanishi (0-2) In 1989 the popular Katsuya Onizuka, then aged 19, took part in his 8th professional bout, and battled against Masao Kawanishi. November 5th 1993-Ariake Colosseum, Tokyo, Japan Katsuya Onizuka (22-0, 17) vs Thanomsak Sithbaobay (44-3, 25) II In April 1992 Japan's popular Katsuya Onizuka claimed the WBA Super Flyweight title, with a win over Thanomsak Sithbaobay. The two would rematch in late 1993, in Onizuka's 4th defense of the title. April 3rd 1994-Kokugikan, Tokyo, Japan Katsuya Onizuka (23-0, 17) vs Seung Koo Lee (15-2-1, 11) In April 1994 Japan's Katsuya Onizuka made returned to the ring hunting his 5th defense of the WBA Super Flyweight title, as he took on Korean Seung Koo Lee. April 10th 1992-Metropolitan Gym, Tokyo, Japan Katsuya Onizuka (18-0, 16) vs Thanomsak Sithbaobay (37-2, 21) In 1992 popular Japanese fighter Katsuya Onizuka battled against Thai foe Thanomsak Sithbaobay for the WBA Super Flyweight title, which had been vacated by Thai legend Khaosai Galaxy upon his retirement. September 18th 1994-Yoyogi Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan Katsuya Onizuka (24-0, 17) Vs Hyung Chul Lee (17-4, 13) In 1994 Japan's popular Katsuya Onizuka [鬼塚勝也], the then WBA Super Flyweight champion, battled against Korean Hyung Chul Lee [이형철]. Fight fans who haven't seen this one really should make time to watch it with some considering it the best fight of 1994. December 11th 1992-Ariake Colosseum, Tokyo, Japan Katsuya Onizuka (20-0, 17) vs Armando Castro (39-12-2, 34) In 1992 Japan's Katsuya Onizuka [鬼塚勝也] claimed the WBA Super Flyweight title. In his second defense he took on Mexican foe Armando Castro, who had interestingly been the final challenger of Khaosai Galaxy, who had then held the same title Onizuka was defending. October 15th 1990-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Katsuya Onizuka (13-0, 12) vs Shunichi Nakajima (23-5, 13) I In 1990 fans saw the exciting Katsuya Onizuka [鬼塚勝也] fight in his first title bout, as he challenged the then Japanese Super Flyweight champion Shunichi Nakajima [中島俊一], in the first of two meetings between the men. Interestingly both of these men would fight at the world level, with Onizuka claiming the WBA Super Flyweight title in the 1990's whilst Nakajima would come up short, for the very same title, against the great Khaosai Galaxy in what was his bout prior to this one. June 17th 1991-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Katsuya Onizuka (16-0, 14) v Suzuharu Kitazawa (10-2, 8) In the early 1990's Japan had a number of really popular fighters, one of which was the exciting Katsuya Onizuka [鬼塚勝也]. Here we see Onizuka defending the Japanese Super Flyweight title against Suzuharu Kitazawa [北澤鈴春]. February 27th 1989-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Katsuya Onizuka (6-0, 5) Vs Yutaka Sakamoto (1-0) In 1992 Katsuya Onizuka claimed the WBA Super Flyweight title.
