August 24th 2007-Jangchung Gymnasium, Seoul, South Korea Ju Hee Kim (10-1-1, 3) vs Yuki Sakurada (4-6-1) Back in 2007 Korean fighter Ju Hee Kim clashed with Japanese fighter Yuki Sakurada in a contest the vacant WBA female Light Flyweight title. At the time Kim was 21 years old whilst Sakurada was 39. (Note this is an re-uploded version after the previous copy was removed from the internet)

September 5th 2009- Anyang Sports Complex, Anyang, South Korea Ju Hee Kim (12-1-1, 5) vs Fahpratan Looksaikongdin (7-0) In September 2009 fight fans in Anyang saw Ju Hee Kim face off with Fahpratan Looksaikongdin in a bout to unify the GBU, WIBA and WIBF Light Flyweight titles. May 6th 2005-Jangchung Gymnasium, Seoul, South Korea Ju Hee Kim (7-1-1, 2) vs Mayda Kid Solan (0-0) In May 2005 the then 19 year old Ju Hee Kim made her first defense of the IFBA Light Flyweight title, as she took on Filipino challenger Mayda Kid Solan. June 28th 2008- Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea Ju Hee Kim (11-1-1, 4) vs Li Hai Li (1-2-2) In 2008 Korean fans saw Ju Hee Kim [김주희] battle against Li Hai Li for the WIBA Light Flyweight title. December 19th 2004-Seongnam, South Korea Ju Hee Kim (6-1-1, 2) vs Melissa Shaffer (8-0, 5) In December 2004 Korean 18 year old Ju Hee Kim faced off with unbeaten American Melissa Shaffer for the IFBA Light Flyweight title. November 16th 2002-Capital Hotel, Seoul, South Korea Ju Hee Kim (2-0-1, 1) vs In Young Lee (3-0, 1) Female has started to grow in the West. There are still fans of boxing who aren't fans of female fights, but there is clearly a push and slow acceptance of the female boxing. One of the first countries to really grasp that was Korea, who had an interesting female scene in the early 00's. In 2002 Ju Hee Kim and In Young Lee faced off for the Korean female Flyweight title, in a bout that turned out to be incredibly entertaining. September 7th 2002-Byunjungil Boxing Gym, Seoul, South Korea Ju Hee Kim (0-0-1) vs Hye Min Choi (0-0-1) In 2002 Korean fans saw the then 16 year old Ju Hee Kim battle against fellow novice Hye Min Choi. September 12th 2010-Anyang Stadium, Anyang, South Korea Ju Hee Kim (13-1-1, 6) v Jujeath Nagaowa (9-7-1, 5) Later this year we will see history made when Jujeath Nagaowa takes part in the first world title bout in Sri Lanka. Although not an elite fighter she is a handful, as seen when she travelled to Korea and gave Korean local Ju Hee Kim absolute hell back in 2010 and inflicted one one of the worst injuries we've ever seen in a female bout. |
