Jorge Linares (1-0, 1) Vs Chawal Sor Vorapin (5-2)*
In the West we rarely see prospects in 6 round bouts on their debut but that's exactly what happened to Japanese based Venezuelan Jorge Linares who debuted in a 6 round bout. Linares blew out his debut opponent in just 45 seconds and then he took on a most testing foe in the form of Chawal Sor Vorapin. The bout was supposed to be a showcase for the good looking youngster who had managed to get TV time despite being such a novice. In the first round it looked very much like the expected showcase but the bout ended up not being a blow out, despite the impressive start Linarse made.
