January 13th 2024-PARADISE CITY, Incheon Izuki Tomioka (8-6-1, 3) Vs Mikhail Lesnikov (7-4-1, 2) In January the talented, but light punching Izuki Tomioka [富岡樹], from Japan, made his international debut, as he travelled to South Korea and faced with Russian fighter Mikhail Lesnikov, in a show promoted by Cocky Buffalo. Although no world beater Tomioka is far better than his record suggests, and 3 of his losses have come in regional or national title bouts, with other losses being razor thin ones to the likes of Shuya Masaki, Hiroki Okada and Homura Fujita, who later went on to win a Japanese title. As for Lesnikov, he was looking to secure a 4th straight win and extend s 6 fight unbeaten run.

Every so often however Japanese fight fans get to watch a ann debutant B-grade bout, which sees two usually talented former amateurs face off in a 6 rounder to begin their careers. They don't happen but when they do happen they are worth making a note of.
