March 6th 1999-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Celes Kobayashi (18-4-2, 10) vs Hideyasu Ishihara (2-0) Over the last few years we've seen top Japanese prospects being raced to title fights. That isn't actually a new thing, and back in 1999 Hideyasu Ishihara [石原英康] was raced to a Japanese title fight, in just his third bout, as he took on the then Japanese Super Flyweight champion Celes Kobayashi [セレス小林], who would later go on to win the WBA Super Flyweight title.

September 26th 1999-International Conference Hall, Nagoya, Japan Hideyasu Ishihara (2-1) Vs Rudy Idanio (33-37-10, 13) In recent year's we've seen Japanese prospects being fast tracked at an incredible rate. The same also appliedbefore the current era, with Hideyasu Ishihara [石原英康] being such a case. On debut he took on Japanese champion Nolito Cabato, and beat Cabato, before fighting for a Japanese title in his third bout, losing to future world champion Celes Kobayashi. Following the loss to Kobayashi Ishihara took on Filipino veteran Rudy Idanio. |
