December 18th 1981-Osaka, Osaka, Japan Hidekazu Akai (7-0, 7) vs Nobutaka Kuwata (7-5-1, 5) In the early to mid 1980's Hidekazu Akai [赤井英和] name a name for himself as an exciting, hard hitting fighter, who earned the name "Rocky of Naniwa". Here we see his 8th pro bout, just 15 months after his debut, which saw him take on Nobutaka Kuwata. May 6th 1982-Prefectural Gymnasium, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Hidekazu Akai (9-0, 9) vs Fred Galang (1-1-1) Japan's exciting Hidekazu Akai [赤井英和] , aka the "Rocky of Naniwa" began his career by reeling off stoppage wins. Here we see Akai in his 10th pro bout, facing Indonesian Fred Galang. June 5th 1984-Osaka, Osaka, Japan Hidekazu Akai (17-1, 15) vs Kei Tsukada (2-2, 2) The all action Hidekazu Akai [赤井英和] was a popular fighter in the 1980's in Japan with the hope that the "Rocky of Naniwa" would one day become a world champion. Sadly his career was cut short in 1986 following a bleed on the brain. One of his final fights saw him taking on Kei Tsukada. Akai's warm up for that bout came 5 months earlier when he faced Miharu Muto.
