Undercard bouts in some countries are mismatches used to pad records. They take a promising youngster or a local ticket seller and match them with a "bum" or a weak foreign import. In Japan however they often take the youngster and throw them in with someone with some ambition and someone who will try to beat them. That happened this past Sunday when Daijiro Yuki was matched with Kazuma Fukuyama. Both guys came to win and neither was there just to pick up a loss.
We won't ruin the result but we will say fights like this are better for all involved, the promoter, fan and the fighters.
