July 9th 2018-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Shoma Fukumoto (12-2, 10) Vs Arnel Tinampay (24-21-1, 10) II Earlier this month once touted Japanese Middleweight Shoma Fukumoto [福本祥馬] battled against Filipino journeyman Arnel Tinampay, the man who inflicted Fukumoto's first loss back in 2013. September 12th 2010- Anyang Stadium Anyang, South Korea Arnel Tinampay (15-10-1, 4) vs Chung Soo Lee (0-0) In 2010 upset minded Filipino Arnel Tinampay, who has beaten several notable fighters during his career, took on debuting Korean Chung Soo Lee. November 13th- Bangkok University, Thonburi Campus Bangkok, Thailand Teerachai Kratingdaenggym (31-0, 24) vs Arnel Tinampay (22-19-1, 8) Thailand's Teerachai Kratingdaenggym has slowly edged his way towards a world title fight. Earlier this week his unbeaten record, and potential world title fight, were on the line as he took on banana skin Arnel Tinampay, an under-rated fighter from the Philippines. November 9th 2012- Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore, Singapore Arnel Tinampay (19-15-1, 6) Vs Yosuke Kirima (15-2-2, 11) In recent times we've become aware that Filipino fighters can have some very deceiving records. This has been shown with fighters like Rey Loreto, Sonny Boy Jaro and Rey Megrino. When a Filipino fighter has a poor record we cannot write them off. Another fighter who proves this is Arnel Tinampay who has become a bogey man to Japanese fighters in recent years. For some fans their first chance to see Tinampay in action was his bout against former Japanese Light Middleweight title challenger Yosuke Kirima. The first 15 seconds of this bout, on the under-card of the Chris John Vs Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo fight, certainly should have made Japanese fighters aware of Tinampay and his under-rated power. |
