April 13th 1982-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Tadashi Tomori (18-5, 5) vs Amado Ursua (28-9, 22) In 1982 Tadashi Tomori [友利正] challenged WBC Light Flyweight champion Amado Ursua. August 29th 1980-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Tadashi Tomori (15-2, 4) Vs Shuichi Hozumi (12-0, 3) In May 1980 future world champion Tadashi Tomori [友利正] claimed the Japanese Light Flyweight title, in his first defense he took on the unbeaten Shuichi Hozumi [穂積秀一] December 13th 1999-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Koji Arisawa (22-1, 17) vs Nobutoshi Hiranaka (18-5-1, 11) II In 1999 Japanese fighters Koji Arisawa and Nobutoshi Hirnaka faced off twice. The first bout saw Arisawa win a decision over Hiranaka, the younger brother of Akinobu Hiranaka, looking to avenge that loss. January 3rd 1967-Aichi Prefectural Gym, Nagoya, Aichi, Japan Fighting Harada (45-3, 17) vs Jose Medel (63-20-6, 41) II In 1963 Fighting Harada [ファイティング原田] suffered his first stoppage loss, only of only 2 in his legendary career, being stopped by Jose Medel. In 1967, with Harada having claimed the WBA and WBC Bantamweight, the two would have a rematch. May 22nd 1977-Makomanai Indoor Arena, Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan Yoko Gushiken (10-0, 6) vs Rigoberto Marcano (16-2, 9) I Japanese great Yoko Gushiken [具志堅 用高] would twice face Rigoberto Marcano, this is the first of their bouts, and was just 7 months after Gushiken won the WBA Light Flyweight title. January 27th 1980- Prefectural Gymnasium, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Yoko Gushiken (20-0, 14) vs Yong Hyun Kim (12-4-3, 3) In early 1980 Yoko Gushiken [具志堅 用高] took on Korean challenger Yong Hyun Kim. January 30th 1977-Nippon Budokan, Tokyo, Japan Yoko Gushiken (9-0, 6) vs Jaime Rios (18-2-1, 8) I In early 1977 Yoko Gushiken [具志堅 用高] made his first defense of the WBA Light Flyweight title, taking on Jaime Rios in the first of two bouts between the two men. |
