From where we are sat the Flyweight division is the best in world boxing. The top fighters in the division are some of the best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet and the division often gives us some of the truly exceptional and brilliants bouts. The recent Akira Yaegashi/Roman Gonzalez bout is one of the best world title fights that we have seen in a very long time whilst the Koki Eto/Ardian Diale OPBF bout is one of the most sensational contests of the year. Sadly not every Flyweight bout is a sensational contest however and this past Wednesday we saw a credible though not thrilling contest between IBF champion Amnat Ruenroeng and #1 contender McWilliams Arroyo. The bout wasn't a stinker though did feature more wrestling, holding and spoiling than many of the divisions other recent bouts. It was however a very competitive bout with neither man managing to dominate the other. Whilst we won't have this in our FOTY list it was a bout that we think did show a very evenly matched bout with two very contrasting styles. Certainly an interesting bout even if it wasn't the most exciting.
