The card, headlined by Jimmy Paypa (14-2, 4) scoring a decision over Jason Redondo (7-2-1, 6) may not have been a great card over-all but it was nice to have midweek boxing the Philippines. Paypa, a promising southpaw in the Featherweight division extended his 3 year winning run to 12 successive victories as the 20 year old moved one step close to a national title fight.
For Redeondo, a former PBF title challenger, the loss was his second in 4 bouts however at just 19 years old he has a lot of time to learn and this defeat will surely not harm him too much in the long run.
Prior to the Paypa/Redondo fight we were treat to a trio of 4 round bouts and a duo of 6 rounders. In the 4 round affairs Geo Santisima (1-1) claimed his first victory, defeating the Japanese born Philippines based Takaomi Naoma (1-3) via decision; Raul Yu (3-0, 3) extended the perfect start to his career, stopping Ritchnel Rosales (0-3) in the second round, having previously dropped him in the opener and Jojo Entor (23-11-8, 8) unfortunately had his bout with Nelson Sandal (0-1-1) cut short courtesy of a second round clash of heads.
In the 6 round bouts the promising Kim Galon (3-0-1, 2) defeated the more experienced Marlou Talili (5-8, 2) via decision, helped in part to a 6th round knock down whilst Japanese Welterweight Yusuke Maekawa (1-1) claimed his first professional victory with a razor thin majority decision over Crispin Parba (6-7, 3). The loss for Parba ends a 3 fight winning streak that started back in September 2012.
