This week has been a bit of a weird one for use with both fights today and Tuesday popping up on us from nowhere.
Today's card, held at the Yothinburana School in Bangkok featured several bouts including a PABA title bout scheduled for 12 rounds.
The main bout of the day saw promising Thai Padjai Yongyuthgym (16-1-2, 11) successfully claim the PABA Super Featherweight title as he stopped Indonesian journeyman Elly Ray (10-9-1, 3). This was the 3rd successive stoppage loss for Ray who was also stopped by IK Yang and Jason Butar Butar.
Aged 27 there is a lot of time for Padjai to reach his potential and we hope he'll settle at 130lbs having fought at both 126 and 135 in recent bouts. His one loss, a controversial decision to Vyacheslav Gusev, seems to be well behind him and a world title fight at 130 in the next 12-24 months is certainly not out of the question.
On the undercard there were victories for Norasing Kokietgym (6-0-1, 4), Fonluang Sor Tanapinyo (15-1-1, 4) and Saenmuangloei Kokietgym (17-5-3, 3).
Norasing was the only one of those men to score a stoppage as he defeated Daiboy Sajiro (3-7-1) in the 4th of 6 rounds. This was the first time Sajiro had been stopped despite having fought Tepparith Kokietgym, Tiger Tor Buamas and Petch Kokietgym so it's a very impressive result.
The 23 year old Fonluang was ending a 2 year break from the ring following a highly notable decision victory over Ratanachai Sor Vorapin. Fonluang's decision victory over Indonesian Boido Simanjuntak (16-20-1, 5) was the 3rd loss this year for Simanjuntak,
Former Akira Yaegashi opponent Saenmuangloei Kokietgym claimed his second victory of the year as he overcame debutant Wang Chong (0-1). This was the second successive decision victory for Saenmuangloei following his stoppage loss to Yaegashi.
The card also saw victories for Decha Kokietgym (34-11-3, 18), Takuya Watanabe (18-4-1, 6) and Shigetaka Yonezawa (7-7-2, 2). For Decha and Watanabe the victories were over debutants (Watanabe stopping Wirayut (0-1) inside a round and Decha beating Jose Nato (0-1) via a 6 round decision) whilst Yonezawa settled for a technical decision over Eun-Chang Lee (6-3, 2).
We try and give you the latest results on all the fights from Asia.
