This weekend's Asain action kicked off in Thailand with a show in Nakhon Sawan.
The main event of the Thai show saw Kwanpichit OnesongchaiGym (22-0-2, 9) suffer the second draw of his career due to an early technical draw with the unbeaten Filipino Ben Mananquil (9-0-1, 2). The bout, which ended in the second round, was scheduled for 12 rounds with Kwanpichit's WBO Oriental Flyweight title on the line, though with the draw Kwanpichit has made a relative quick defense.
The rest of the show was mostly, scheduled for 6 rounds. This included a victory for the debuting Tewa Tor Surat (1-0) who out pointed Anuntachai Sor Por Lor Krungthep (5-5, 3) over the 6.
In a minor upset China's You-Jie Zeng (4-4, 4) managed to stop Thailand's Fonluang Sor Singyu (6-4, 4). This was the only bout to be won by a non-Thai on the card with Bualuang OnesongchaiGym (12-0, 4) taking a decision over Palangchai Lookmuangpetch (0-1).
The card also featured two female bouts. These saw Nonggift Or Wanchoed (5-1, 1) winning a decision over Nongbua Lookprai-aree (8-11-1) and Angor Sor Saenkamrang (2-0, 1) taking a decisionover Petchnatkan Bangmod Sport (0-1-1) in the show's sole 4 round bout.
In Australia Thai veteran Thongthai Rajanondh (16-14, 4) was shut out by Australian novice Luke Jackson (2-0, 1). Although Rajanondh was beaten he did see out the distance with Jackson who had taken out his debut opponent in the second round.
