The first boxing action of the day was in the Philippines at the Digos City Gym.
On the card unbeaten teenager Harmonito Dela Torre (9-0, 5) extending his winning run thanks to a decision over Bonnie Makiling (4-3, 3). The same card also saw a victory for veteran Fernando Lumacad (29-6-3, 12) who took a 6 round decision over Renante Suacasa (5-8, 1).
The main event of the show saw former world title challenger Jether Oliva (18-1-2, 10) held to a disappointing draw with Lester John Pronco (9-4-1, 6) in a bout for the Filipino (PBF) Light Flyweight title which remains vacant.
Whilst this was just Oliva's second bout since losing to Ulises Solis back in August 2011 it was almost a given that he was going to claim the title so this will be a huge setback to the 26 year old from General Dos Santos.
At the Korakuen Hall the East Japan Boxing Association put on a 7 bout card as part of a tournament to find suitable challengers for the Japanese national titles.
In the Light Flyweight division we saw a minor upset as the previously unbeaten Hiroyuki Otsuka (6-1, 5) was out pointed by Toshimasa Ouchi (16-6-3, 4). The same division also saw Kenichi Horikawa (24-12-1, 4) come out with a victory as he out pointed Tetsuya Hisada (20-8, 10). We are now expecting Ouchi to face Horikawa in October.
Unfortunately it appears that the winner of this tournament will end up facing the winner of the Naoya Inoue against Ryoichi Taguchi bout, both of whom would likely give up the title rather than defend it against fighters of this level.
It wasn't just Otsuka who suffered an upset but also Masamichi Nozaki (16-4-1, 6) who was shocked by Yoshihito Ishizaki (8-5-1, 4) in a Super Flyweight bout. This was just Ishizaki's second win in 7 bouts and he now seems likely to face Yohei Tobe next time out.
At Super Bantamweight Takafumi Nakajima (21-6-1, 8) claimed a decision over Hirofumi Maenosono (16-5-2, 6). Nakajima will face Mikihito Seto (34-10-2, 18) who was the only man on the card to record a stoppage as he stopped Koji Aoki (14-7-2, 5) in the final minute of their bout.
Up at Super Featherweight the unbeaten Rikki Naito (7-0, 4) shut out Tomohisa Tagawa (10-10-3, 3) to secure a bout with Keiichi Izumi (13-5, 4) who out pointed Ryota Kajiki (21-8, 14) on the same card.
All the winners (and the Ishizaki/Tobe bout) are going to take place on October 19th at the Korakuen Hall as is a Light Middleweight bout between Yoshihisa Tonimura and Sanosuke Sasaki.
We try and give you the latest results on all the fights from Asia.
