Earlier today we were informed that the hard hitting Yuzo Kiyota (25-4-1, 23) will not be defending his OPBF Super Middleweight title fight on July 11th as previously thought. Kiyota, who has struggled to get a title challenger for the fight, will instead be fighting in a 10 round non title fight at a contract of 77KG's, just over the 168lb Super Middleweight limit.
As well as the change in the conditions of the fight were also informed of the opponent for the the big hitting Japanese fighter. His opponent has now been named as Indonesia's Hero Yauw Katili (6-6-1, 4) a fighter who has apparently been inactive since 2009.
Although it's clearly disappointing that Kiyota won't be defending his title we've got to admit that it's actually more disappointing that he's facing a former Lightweight who, according to boxrec, has been inactive for more than 5 years. Hopefully if Kiyota can can see off Katili quickly he can manage to return to the ring against before the year is out, hopefully in a defence of his belt.
