Sano, best known for his stoppage loss last year to Naoya Inoue and his split decision loss to Masayuki Kuroda in a Japanese Light Flyweight title fight, will return to the ring for the very last time on March 30th.
The return to the ring, as with many Japanese fighters, will be a ceremonial sparring session to allow the fighter to leave the sport on a high. For Sano this will be especially notable as he will get to share the ring with IBF Minimumweight champion Katsunari Takayama.
Although Sano did promise in the past that he'd become a champion his retirement and injury has sadly prevented that from happening. Interestingly on his blog Sano did apologise for failing to keep this promise and for being a "liar" after not winning a title. We think everyone will forgive him and wish him the best in the future.
The poster and full details of the card have yet to be released though we hope to have them as soon as they've been made available.
