Earlier today fight fans at the Korakuen Hall saw hard hitting Japanese Welterweight Yuki Beppu (19-1-1, 18) [別府優樹] scored his first decision win, in what was his 21st professional bout.
The "Tyson of Kyushu" was up against Filipino foe Jason Egera (24-21-2, 11) who proved to have a tough head, as Beppu stated after the fight, and survived the 8 round distance with the talented Japanese fighter.
Although Egera survived, avoiding a 10th stoppage loss, he was never really close to picking up the winning, losing on all 3 cards, despite a courageous effort. Egera did pose questions to Beppu, but the younger, hard hitting Japanese fighter was always a bit too sharp and quick for the 34 year old visitor.
Following the bout Beppu revealed that he was wanting to rematch Yuki Nagano, who beat him last year, and it was also reported that his next bout is set for September 23rd Kurume. He also came across as a man unhappy with his performance, despite picking up the win here.
