Earlier today saw WBC Light Flyweight champion Yu Kimura (18-2-1, 3) [木村 悠] begin full time sparring ahead of his first world title, set for March 4th against Mexican southpaw Ganigan Lopez (26-6, 17).
The champion, who won the title last November with an upset win against Pedro Guevara, was sparring with a couple of Filipino sparring partners, including the very talented Jake Bornea.
The sparring session saw Kimura being tested for a number of rounds and needing to show signs of adapting his own rhythm against two fighters who each have their own ambitions to go a very long way.
For those interested in watching Kimura Vs Lopez they will, sadly, need access to NTV G+ who will be airing the bout live, whilst the other world title bout, between Shinsuke Yamanaka (24-0-2, 17) [山中 慎介] and Liborio Solis (23-3-1, 10) will be aired on regular NTV, across Tokyo for free.
