Japanese Welterweight Yoshihiro Kamegai (24-1-1, 21) has spent time preparing for his upcoming bout with Robert Guerrero (31-2-1-2, 18) by spending the time in the ring sparring with the world ranked, and currently unbeaten, Ivan Redkach (16-0-0-1, 13).
Redkach, a world ranked fighter himself, was attempting to keep Kamegai sharp ahead of the Japanese fighters big fight whilst also preparing himself for a major bout on ESPN's Friday Night Fights. The hope seems to be for Redkach to himself taking something from the session and use it to help improve himself.
We believe the sparring took place on June 14th and since then Kamegai has been continuing to prepare for his bout. The sparring, we believe, has finished with his work out now basically consisting of jogging and continuing to do light work.
Although a big under-dog Kamegai will feel confident going in to the bout and we wish him all the best at upsetting "The Ghost" in what could potentially be a break out fight in the US for the exciting Japanese fighter.
