Earlier today we were informed that former WBA "interim" Flyweight champion Yodmongkol Vor Saengthep (35-3, 20)* would be returning to action on April 24th. The bout will be his second since losing that interim title to Juan Carlos Reveco last year in Argentina.
Although not the most skilled fighter on the plan Yodmongkol is rarely in a poor fight. His 2013 bout with Koki Eto, to win the "interim" title, was a great fight whilst his controversial 2014 win over Takuya Kogawa was a bout that would have been in the running for FOTY had it taken place in the west.
Although boxrec.com don't list his most recent bout Yodmongkol did fight back in March, being given an unexpectedly tough test by the little known Pongpan Pattanakarngym.
The Thai is said to be fighting for the WBA Asia Flyweight title in a bout that will see him battle little known Filipino foe Jopher Marayan (7-5-2, 3). This looks like a mismatch on paper though re-watching Yodmongkol's last bout it's hard to know just how much he has left.
