Since winning the IBF Super Flyweight title last week we've seen Jerwin Ancajas (25-1-1, 16) go from the man no one knew about to the man that every fighter seems to be getting linked with. In the space of a week we've seen his name linked with several fighters.
One of those said to be interested in facing the new champion is Thailand's Yodmongkol Vor Saengthep (40-3, 26) [ยอดมงคล ซีพีเฟรชมาร์ท], who had been linked to Johnriel Casimero earlier this year.
The former WBA "interim" Flyweight champion will be in action later this month in what he's hoping will help secure an IBF ranking. If he can get that then his team is expected to make a sizable financial offer to lure Ancajas over to the Island of Smiles for a fight later this year.
For Ancajas the offer is one of many that he's likely to receive with talk of Sho Ishida's (21-0, 10) [石田 匠] also set to make an offer to the Filipino for a December 31st bout. There will also be potential offers from several other fighters in the rankings and the young Filipino will almost certain be able to pick his next foe based on the offers put his way.
At the moment Yodmongkol is unranked by the IBF however he may well find himself in the rankings next month with the rankings being given a genuine shake up at both Flyweight, Super Flyweight and Bantamweight.
