We have been informed by one of our Thai sources that purse bids for the WBA mandatory title fight between reigning champion Juan Carlos Reveco (34-1, 18) and interim champion Yodmongkol Vor Saengthep (34-2, 20) have been called for August 11th.
From what we understand it seems that it's likely the fight will then be pushed through as quickly as possible with September mooted as the likely month. Interestingly our Thai source also indicates that it's like the bout will be in Reveco's native Argentina, almost as if they know they can't meet the bid of Reveco's team.
This bout will likely see a new WBA interim Flyweight title become available. We're not one for conspiracy theories but could the WBA be angling up for a Zou Shiming pay day if Amnat Ruenroeng or McWilliams Arroyo look sensational in September, around the same time as this Yodmongkol/Reveco bout?
