Tomorrow fight fans in Osaka will be able to watch a treat as Mark John Yap (26-12, 12) defends the OPBF Bantamweight title against former 2-time Japanese champion Kentaro Masuda (27-7, 15) [益田 健太郎]. The bout hasn't got much international attention but it's likely to be a thrilling war between two men who can really fight, and do so in an entertaining and action based style.
Today the two men took part in their weigh in and both fighters looked in great condition and made the limit.
The heavier of the two men was the champion, who came in bang on the 118lb Bantamweight limit. He did seem to suggest there had been a few problems making the weight, but certainly nothing serious, and stated that he would be succesful in defending the title.
Masauda on the other hand came in at 117.5lbs. He was saying he felt in incredible shape and spoke about his history in Osaka, where he is 4-0 and he is looking to continue that run, showing a lot of self belief and confidence whilst speaking to the media.
