WBC Bantamweight champion Shinsuke Yamanaka (20-0-2, 15) successfully landed in Las Vegas to start his American based training camp and within minutes of landing stateside he met up with familiar faces in the form of Ryota Murata and Takahiro Ao.
For Ao the American conditions aren't new. He's been there before and will be offering advice to his compatriots, who are both hoping to fight in the US later this year. The advise will include how to get used to the US time zone and various other factors of American life.
Ao, who arrived in the US a short while back with Jorge Linares, is looking to claim a third divisional world title this year, though no opponent has yet been set.
For Murata, who is in the states in preparation for his upcoming bout with Brazil's Carlos Nascimento, this is his first time in a US training camp. Interestingly Yamanaka and Murata are staying in the same hotel and both are effectively "US" virgins in terms of boxing
It's expected that if things go well for both Yamanaka and Murata they will be appearing on a US show together later this year.
